President Steve Scott to Wrap Up Time at the Helm in June 2022

PSU President Steve Scott announced he will step down from his position in June 2022. But he’s stopping short of calling it a retirement, choosing instead to keep his future options open.

President's Office Names Next Chief of Staff

Katie George has been named the next Chief of Staff in the President’s Office, succeeding Jaime Dalton, who soon will move to the Office of Career Services as its Director.

PSU announced Jaime Dalton, Chief of Staff in the President’s Office, will be making a move to the Office of Career Services as the new Director following the retirement of Mindy Cloninger. 

Schnaer Family Funds New HVAC and Video Board

When the opportunity arose to make a lasting difference at Pittsburg State — one that would make commencement ceremonies much more comfortable — Paula and Miles Schnaer and daughter, Mandi Schnaer Dow, all said “Yes!”

Alumnus Plays at Party for Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter

When PSU grad David Osborne started taking classes here, he never dreamed he’d one day play piano to an audience that would include President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, and former first couples Bill and Hillary Clinton, George W. and Laura Bush, and Barack and Michelle Obama. 

PSU Athletics to Host Gorilla Kickoff Party

Athletics is pleased to announce it will host the 2021 Gorilla Kickoff Party and Auction on Friday, August 20, at the Robert W. Plaster Center. The event replaces the Gorilla Gala that was last held in 2017. This new event will still include a live auction featuring the world famous Nigro Brothers from Kansas City.

Bicknell Center Announces 2021-2022 Season

The Bicknell Family Center for the Arts at PSU announced the 2021-2022 season with a lineup that includes a Broadway musical, several nationally touring acts, and numerous locally produced concerts, plays, art exhibits, and events.

School of Nursing to Implement Telemedicine in Coursework

When students start courses this fall in the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing, they’ll have an opportunity to learn how to serve patients via telemedicine, thanks to a $78,000 grant awarded to help nursing schools respond to the pandemic.

10th Annual PSU Plastics Alumni Golf Tournament

The annual golf tournament will be held on Friday, October 15th at Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg. Net proceeds fund scholarships for Plastics Engineering Technology.
