Dr. Kenneth K. Bateman Outstanding Alumni: Shelly Schorer (MBA '02)

When Shelly enrolled as a student, she was 10 years older than just about everyone in her classes. It didn't matter. Her experiences were transformational, including engaging group projects, the chance to interact with international students, and the campus spirit.

Most students must acclimate to being at a university that is a few hours or sometimes a few states away from home. For Michael, the culture shock was a bit more significant. He came to PSU as a political science major after spending 11 years of his childhood in Puebla, Mexico.

Men's Cross Country Team Captures 2021 MIAA Championship

PSU's Men's Cross Country team captured the program's first ever MIAA Championship while the Gorilla women placed third overall.

Royalty Crowned for Homecoming 2021

Homecoming Royalty were Sam Eddington, a senior biology major from Columbus, KS, representing the Honors College Association, and Becca Brown, a senior nursing major from Joplin representing Alpha Sigma Alpha. 

New State-of-the-Art Equipment Preparing Students for Workforce

As E.J. Geisel worked with his classmates in a lab in the College of Technology, the new state-of-the-art plasma cutter he programmed to cleanly and easily cut through a piece of steel reminded those watching of a light saber from Star Wars.

"Proven. Promise. PittState." Capital Campaign Exceeds Goal

PSU's six-year, $100 million capital campaign has exceeded its goal. PSU Foundation leaders announced at the annual Presidents Society Celebration for donors that $136 million was raised.

 
GUSMail Transition
________________

PSU has worked with Google for over a decade to provide free GUSMail accounts to alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Google recently changed its policy. After December 15th, Google will no longer provide these accounts at zero charge. Therefore PSU is taking action now to ensure alumni have time to move any data.

Coming soon to a cell phone near you!

The PSU Foundation, Inc. announces a partnership with Cadence Mongoose, a text messaging software designed exclusively for higher education. This platform allows University Advancement to modernize the annual Phonathon efforts by offering a more efficient communication tool to enhance alumni relations, stewardship, and donations.  Cadence will allow University Advancement to get a better feel for the types of information constituents want to receive, as well as allowing more flexibility of when communication is sent. University Advancement plans to begin utilizing the texting platform before the end of the 2021 calendar year.
