Former Pitt State All American chosen for Kansas Sports Hall of Fame

Former Pittsburg State University All American offensive lineman and NFL Pro Bowl long snapper Kendall Gammon (BSEd ‘94) has been chosen for induction into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame as one of 10 members of the Class of 2022.

Conductor to take podium one last time

Campus, community, alumni mourn passing of beloved band director

Thousands of former students, current students, colleagues, friends, and members of the cycling and roller derby communities are mourning the sudden loss of Pittsburg State University’s Director of Athletic Bands, Doug Whitten, who died Sunday, June 6, after suffering a massive heart attack while riding his bike in Kansas City. 

Alumni, construction students help bring historic Carver League building back to life

An important piece of local history has been saved from the wrecking ball, thanks in part to alumni who stepped in to save it and to students in the School of Construction who helped local contractors rebuild it. 

Bicknell Center partners with Olive Street Presents for Concerts

A new partnership between the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts and Olive Street Presents will bring Americana and folk concerts from the home of Rob Poole and Carol Puckett to the Miller Theatre in the Bicknell Center, starting with Laney Jones on July 21.
