The ceremony in which they were crowned looked much different than ceremonies in years’ past — it was livestreamed from the stage at the Bicknell Center. President Steve Scott recently announced the Office of Student Diversity will join the Student Life division, and concurrently, the university named Deatrea Rose as Assistant Vice President for Student Life-Senior Diversity Officer. |

New Degree Aimed at Filling Demand for Jobs in Behavior Analysis
Nationally, there is a significant rise in issues involving behavioral health, including substance abuse, suicide, and mental illness, with one in five adults in the U.S. having been diagnosed with a disorder. A shortage of providers means a lack of help for those individuals, but a new graduate program in the Department of Psychology and Counseling at PSU aims at filling a demand for those qualified to work in behavior analysis.

University Appoints Kegler as Associate Vice President
PSU announced the appointment of Jason Kegler as Associate Vice President for Student Life. Kegler, who previously served as Assistant Vice President, will soon have additional supervisory responsibility for the staff and operations of the Department of University Housing. |

Grant Aimed at Retraining Workers Displaced by COVID-19
A $146,000 grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce to PSU’s Plastics Engineering Technology program is aimed at getting workers displaced by the COVID-19 pandemic back into the workplace.

Panel Discussion on Racial Inequalities Planned
The Black Student Association will host a panel discussion, “A Story on Repeat,” at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts at 6:00 pm on November 2nd. There will be both limited seating for in-person viewing and a livestream for remote viewing.

For many years, career fairs at PSU have filled the Plaster Center and the John Lance Arena with hundreds of people. This year, amidst a pandemic, obvious changes had to be made.

Exhibit Honors Legendary Sports Artist Ted Watts
The work of legendary sports artist Ted Watts, an illustrator from Oswego, KS, who spent his career bringing athletes and coaches to life on paper, will be celebrated with a special digital and in-person exhibit at PSU.
