Gorillas Claim Pair of National Titles

The Men's Indoor Track & Field Team witnessed a pair of individual event national championships and both the Men's and Women's Teams secured top 10 finishes at the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships.

Cody Holmes and Aaron Dean Chosen for Awards

Cody Holmes was named Outstanding Elementary Educator and Aaron Dean was named Outstanding Secondary Educator by PSU College of Education. Cody is a fourth grade reading and language arts teacher in Parsons, KS, and Aaron is a science teacher at Shawnee Mission South High School.

Graphics and Communication Majors Win Awards

It was another great year for students in Graphics and Imaging Technology and in Communication at Pittsburg State: they earned a cumulative 33 awards in the annual American Advertising Awards competition, or “ADDYs.”  

Electronics Engineering Technology Student Lands Internship at Tesla

Ordinarily if a senior majoring in Electronics Engineering Technology decided to take a semester or two off, Professor Randy Winzer would be concerned, but Alex Hernandez’s case was unique because he had an offer he couldn’t refuse: an internship with Tesla. 

Paraguayan Students Fulfill Dream of Studying Abroad

Four students from Paraguay are on campus this semester as part of the recently implemented Paraguayan National Scholarship Program and they’ve all noticed something that surprised them: there are many similarities between Paraguay and the U.S.

Pitt State Men Claim MIAA Indoor Crown, Gorilla Women Finish Third

The Men's Indoor Track & Field Team surged to victory at the 2021 MIAA Indoor Championships, while the Gorilla women finished in third place overall.

Recipients Announced for Apple Day Awards

Apple Day, PSU's oldest continuous tradition, was celebrated virtually this year with a week-long roll-out of digital content. Award winners, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni, were recognized in several categories.
